The St. Louis Blues have traditionally been one of the top teams in the NHL year after year. Their hard-nosed, aggressive style of play makes it very easy for them to win games and do it convincingly. Just like their team, the fans of the St. Louis Blues are very passionate about the sport of hockey, which is evident anytime you step through the doors of Scottrade Center. It is at this arena where 22,000 fans can pack the facility to watch the Blues make another run at a Stanley Cup Trophy.

Arriving at the arena couldn't be easier, as Scottrade Center is located in the heart of downtown St. Louis. I-70 and I-55 are the main arteries that run directly into downtown St. Louis, and you surely will not have any problems finding the arena, as the necessary exits are clearly marked on both I-70 and I-55. If you are looking to utilize public transportation, the MetroLink will be able to put you on the doorstep of Scottrade Center so that you are able to fully enjoy a night of exciting St. Louis Blues action. The Transfer Center for MetroLink is located just one block from Scottrade Center, so you will only have a short walk to the building upon arrival.

As for the building itself, you will find that Scottrade Center offers many exciting features that separates it from other arenas in terms of what they can offer their patrons. From the main concourse, you can see the entire St. Louis skyline, which paints a wonderful picture of the beauty and serenity that the city of St. Louis offers visitors. Everything inside the building uses the team colors of the St. Louis Blues, so you know exactly whose house you have entered. The main bowl is expansive in terms of how many people can be seated to watch a game. There is not a bad seat in the arena, and you will surely enjoy your time watching the Blues play their physical brand of hockey.

Plenty of concession stands are located throughout Scottrade Center, as there is pizza, sodas, and beer at almost every turn. There is something for every taste, and you should have no problem finding some kind of traditional ballpark fare that will satisfy your hunger. There is also a specially designated area, known as the Top Shelf, that offers a food court and sports bar area where you can order some of your most well-liked pub-style items without having to wait in line. The Top Shelf is open to all ticket holders, but you might want to plan on getting there early, as they tend to fill up fast on game nights.

There are also other restaurants outside of Scottrade Center that you must explore anytime you are in the downtown St. Louis area. MVP Sports Bar & Grill offers a cost-effective way to dine for the evening by offering your favorite sandwiches and burgers along with your favorite beverage for very low prices. You can also watch other sporting events from around the country on one of MVP's many flat-screen televisions that adorn the walls of the bar. You'll also want to visit J. Buck's Downtown, which is one of the top restaurants in the downtown St. Louis area. With both American and Italian food available, J. Buck's Downtown offers a great selection of menu items along with beverages that will leave you fully satisfied for the big night of hockey that awaits. There is also some great nightlife to be seen in downtown St. Louis, as many clubs are available for you to socialize in while dancing until the early morning hours arrive. One place that is known for its wide selection of different live music acts is The Pageant, which is located on Delmar Blvd. in the heart of St. Louis. Many top singers and acts from around the world have performed at The Pageant, and you will surely have a great time listening to your favorite singers. BB's Jazz, Blues, and Soups provides a more laid back atmosphere where you can enjoy your favorite drink from a full bar while sitting back and relaxing from an exciting night of hockey. BB's also has some great live music, as well, and you will find the night to be a great experience where you can socialize with people from all walks of life.

When you are in St. Louis, there are many different activities that you can partake in while viewing different points of interest along the way. One of the best ways to spend an afternoon in St. Louis is to take a tour of the Anheuser Busch Brewery where you will be able to see exactly how they make your favorite beers. You can also view the world-famous Clydesdale stables that have become a staple of the Budweiser brand over the years. St. Louis is also home to the world-famous Gateway Arch, which is one of the most famous landmarks in America. "The gateway to the West" is a perfect way to finish up a great trip to the city of St. Louis.
